Dad's 80th Birthday Celebration

it was a complete surprise! I was invited to attend a celebration of the Confirmation of the twins at the Fisherman's Catch. Indeed, Rary designed and mailed to me an invitation that was a total hoax:


 

In the company of Mary, I arrived at the "Catch", told the receptionist we were going to the party and strolled down the hall to the restaurant. I saw a huge crowd of friends but thought at least momentarily that they were there for the twins. The shout "SURPRISE" absolutely stunned me. The picture below which caught me as we entered the restaurant area captures the threshold of my amazement.



Besides a host of family and friends, a beautiful tribute greeted me. It was two collages of family photos and a plaque.


The plaque deeply moved me:



The reference to "Fly" touched a special place in my heart where the love of flying has been a long-time resident.

The reference to "Fly" was also thoughtfully included in the beautiful Birthday cake.





But the most touching of all was the presence of family and friends
